2008 Ford Edge ac blows cold on passenger side, but not cold on driver side

Asked by GuruMSWY May 17, 2017 at 03:18 PM about the 2008 Ford Edge SEL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had my ac charged and the ac
worked fine for a few days.  Now when I
turn on I get cold air on passenger side,
but not so cold on driver side.  Is there
something I can do to repair this or
diagnose what the problem is?

Dual climate control a/c will sometimes make one side hot and the other fine due to low refrigerant. You may have a small leak. Technician needs to evac and leak test system and put dye in system and circulate ac with car on and use uv glasses to find glowing leak. I've done an evap core in a car just like yours, so be sure that's checked.

If you charged and it worked and now it don't work after a few days, u most likely have a large leak, usually at the condenser, if you look in the front grill you should be able to see it, if it's leaking you will see oily spots on it usually on the corners

I have the same issue except that the freon is charged and it still blows hot on the driver side. My mechanic checked it right after charging the freon. It is a 2007....any suggestions?
