I have a 2008 Focus SES - With the car off and the key out, what is the max normal AMP draw through the battery positive cable? I am getting 1.67 and the battery is dead after sitting for 3 days. Can I remove and clean the starter or do I need a new starter?

The starter does not draw amps when the car is not cranking. To test amp draw you have to wait about 5-10 mins for everything to shutdown. Then see the reading. Then at the fuse box under the hood. Start removing fuses one at a time. Don't put them back in till you find the one that's creating the draw. Take a pic of the fuse box prior to removing the fuses so you know where they go after. And test using the negative cable
