Anyone having electrical issues with their 2008 beetle?

Asked by Jexmustang Oct 02, 2016 at 04:43 PM about the 2008 Volkswagen Beetle SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My beetle is driving me crazy. I've almost had it 2 years,
I'm the second owner and it has 166k miles on it. It just
recently started to have issues! The brake lights refuse to
work only late at night when I first turn on the car
accompanied by the traction control light coming on, 90%
of the time they do work and when I take it in they always
work. Then sometimes the dash lights do not come on
until I adjust the controls. There's an annoying noise that
come son in the dash that sounds like the blinker but the
blinkers aren't on. I have no idea what the issue is, no one
can find the issue and it never has issues when I take it in
to be looked at. Oh and the low tire pressure light is
always on but the tires are at the correct pressure. Is this
ok for this age of car? Does it have anything to do with it
turning into winter?

It's a sad comment that VW could have used the introduction of the new Beetle with a great car... Unfortunately, that is not the case.
