Repair manuals says the convertibles pump is located in the trunk and it sometimes need
additional ATF fluid.  I have searched for it without success.  Any idea, anyone?

Apigos5. I also am having this problem. Just started two days ago. From research so far there are two switches for the top. We are having a failure with one of these. Im curious how to fix this problem. Like location of locking switch and repair. Thx cargurus.....

Ok, So I could use some help with my 05 Beetle top also. When I unlatch my top it will go down all the way but not latch. The warning light stays on and I hear the chime as I drive. When I go to put the top back up, it does not move as if there's an electrical contact issue. If I undue the hydraulic pressure on the pump I can put the top up manually. After its up about half way, I can operate it with the power button. Even then it will go up about 8-10 inches and it stops. I have to repeat this process a number of times until the top is all the way down. So in short. the top goes down all the way but doesn't lock after holding the power button in the down position and then no power to close it until I put it up manually and even then it moves a little but at a time till its closed. Any input and help would be appreciated. Thanks.
