I do not ride the clutch. I use very little gas when starting off and minimize the time that the clutch slips. The clutch itself works perfectly normal, grab point is about halfway and clutch does not slip at all. It's just that chirping noise that goes away after a few mins of driving. I believe it's the original clutch ( previous owner thought so too) and it's got almost 120k so I think the clutch and parts are just getting old from normal wear and tear.
And i never leave the clutch pushed in when stopped. If I'm going to be more than a few seconds typically I'll put it in neutral and release the clutch .
