2008 Escape 4wd, check engine light, coolant thermostat fault?

Just after I got an oil change, and weather here just got much colder, the
check engine light came on, code P0128 (coolant thermostat has a fault).
I just want to confirm it's accurate, and not some sensor issue, or other
coolant issue (i seem to recall the engine light coming on before for nothing
but not sure). Thanks.
