Question type: General

My 2007 Colbalt will not start and shows the pad lock on the dash..i did have
it to the dealer 11 months ago to have the ignition replaced but when i called
the dealer ship back i was told only the tumbler was replaced, which
confused me more because it is happening again.  I do not have a fob, it
never came with one when i bought the car and they gave me new keys
only..no fob...there has tto be a simple solution to this problem then paying
hundreds to bring it back to dealer.  Did the three 10 min in on position,
removed postive cable of battery and even left it off overnight.  Starter and
cylnoid is working fine.  What else could be doing this.  Please help...it is our
only car.

Oh that's simple. It's your key bypass system locked. You have a chip in your key that matches to that tumbler (ignition switch) you must refrain from placing your key beside any type of magnet or field. Now the only thing to do is 1) call AAA or any locksmith they can do it right there for $100 or go bypass security system by jumping starter solenoid
