I have a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette and everything was fine then all of a sudden my oil pressure gauge goes from 40psi to 80psi in 2 seconds ?? No oil leaks no oil seepage anywhere. Turned car off let it sit for 30 mins cranked it same thing immediately. I also turned ignition on without cranking car and same thing- 0-80 psi on gauge and digital readout 130 psi?? All other gauges are working fine,- voltage, fuel, temp. What could be the issue? Please help

Oil Pressure Gauge

It's a common problem with LS1 oil pressure sending units. No real cause for alarm; just replace it. It's a little tricky, but you can do it. You have to remove the intake. Good luck!

Before tearing into the engine, if you can reach the sending unit, pull off the electrical connection and give it a good cleaning. It may be a poor connection or the connections is lose. If it does the same thing, do what joeybear1961 said, replace the sensor. that seems to be a common issue with a lot of vehicles, not just GM products.
