What is good exhaust system to put on a Acura RSX-TypeS

Asked by mwallace Sep 17, 2012 at 04:34 PM about the 2002 Acura RSX Type-S FWD

Question type: Car Customization

My Cadillac converter is out on my Acura.  I planned on putting a new exhaust on it anyways, but now I
don't know what to put on that's not going to brake my bank, but is going to sound nice and deep.

It's a "catalytic" converter. There are loads of reviews on RSX exhaust options on clubrsx.com. That's where you'll get the best information, and their parts store also offers some of the best prices around.

I'd go with a stock JDM type-r or mugen twin-loop exhaust.

I have had a greddy ti-c catback and switched to a Skunk 2 because the greddy was very quiet and not much different than stock other than when I floored it. The Skunk 2 you can hear always and makes a good sound and feel for the car. I would suggest the Skunk 2 but it sounds like you want the same thing. Price was around $700. I would say that is mid-range for exhaust systems.

Invidia Q300 is the way to go if you plan on doing a racing header. its 70mm has a nice deep tone, full stainless steel no drone at all. its loud enough to enjoy but it isnt going to get you pulled over. some other exhausts with the RH combo get way too loud. not to mention it is carb legal in all 50, and you get good power gains, good back pressure without sacrificing daily drivability, i used to have the HKS Hi-power 60mm, it got way too loud after i put in the header. you can get a Q300 for around $650
