Heard a loud clunk sound and now will not go into gear

Will not go into drive or reverse. Transmission fluid
is over filled when cold.

Same happen with my 1995 4X4 tahoe. Your 4WD gear is out. Need to get the front 4WD system rebuilt. It's not the transmission. If 4WD is locked than your car will not move. Good luck.
