How do I make a 94 4l60e work in place of a 97

The only to make this work it to find a stand alone transmission control computer. The problem I see is you went backwards on the year of transmission so one for your rig might not be available anymore. Otherwise there’s no hope cause your trying to put OBD 1 into and OBD 2 vehicle so it is electronically incompatable.

You can't. 1994 is OBD I but 1997 is OBD II. They're completely different computer control systems and are not compatible with each other at all! You need a 1996 or 97 model and be sure the tags on both transmissions match exactly or it won't work either. Hope that helps! Jim
