It could be a noise from your injectors. Use some cleaner in your next tank of gas.

Does the tapping noise go away after the engine has warmed up? If so not to worry. As tropikalpriate suggested, some injector cleaner is a good idea. If the tapping continues after engine warm up, youmay want to have a mechanic look at the valvetrain.
