2007 Grand Prix starting issues

Asked by Dani Dec 21, 2018 at 06:38 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Grand Prix has issues when trying to start, it clicks repeatedly, turns on
the windshield wipers, pops the trunk and sounds the horn when the key is
turned on. It will not start when it does this. Occasionally it starts just fine. We
have cleaned all the battery terminals and checked the voltage of the battery,
replaced the starter and replaced the ignition switch. Nothing has worked any
ideas out there

we added another body ground wire from the battery to the inner fender well under the fuse box since that one was pretty rusted. we also had the battery voltage checked at 2 different places which showed it was working fine. after the ground wire was added the only issue we had was a slow start which would still pop the trunk. we decided to replace the battery and with that we no longer have any problems. all symptoms are gone. Bad body ground, and a battery was the problem.
