Cooling fans won't come on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have 07 Pontiac Grand prix 206,000 mi. Just
recently the cooling fans won't come on. Of course
when I'm driving temp gauge is OK when idling
temp gauge rises almost to red line. I've replaced
water pump replace thermostat replaced relay fir
fan #2 and radiator cap....any one have any ideas
what I should try next?

Try this, does your ac work too? Once you switch your ac on, the fans must work immediately, if they do not then it could be your fuses or fan motors. Have those checked.

thats right the air conditioner when on turns on those fans , if not have the wires and connectors and fuses checked

Can anyone give further help? Same problem then fans turn on when the AC is on, but not any other time. Relays, and temp sensor is new. Is there a second temp sensor for the fans anywhere?

It used to be that the fans on my 2008 Grand Prix would come on when I turned the ac on. It would overheat on the freeway so I’d turn on the heat... now neither fan comes on at any time and I am googling about this in a grocery store parking lot. Any tips? The fans spin free and I’ve switched around the relays without any luck. Next I’ll check the fuse. If that passes I spose I’ll jump the relay or replace the fan assembly
