2007 pontiac g6 gt convertible

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2007 pontiac g6 gt convertible 3.9L with 158k
miles and I want to start upgrading it like parts and making
it faster and body kit and what not..is it pointless for me to
put a bunch of money into it due to a quita bit of miles? Or
should I get another car and put the money into the other
one? I love my g6 and want to make it last a long time and
do custom stuff to it but dont want to get everything done
and it not drive much longer..it runs like a brand new car no
lights on no problems so please help me with this question

I have the exact same car, same engine, and I’m sitting at 160,000 miles. I’ve done a cool air intake, brake upgrade with slotted and drilled rotors, ceramic pads and performance calipers in red. Strut tower brace, KYB struts and shocks with new shock mounts, customized exhaust with stainless steel tips. The problem with modifying this car for speed is that it’s so damn heavy with all the convertible equipment. I frequently have to tell myself that convertibles are for cruising, not racing. Honestly, there is more potential for the 3.6 engine than our 3.9. My next step is searching for the perfect tuner, swapping the baby spoiler out (I really kinda hate the view of the car from the back) a wheel upgrade, and then possibly some new ground effects. I’m in dire need of new rims, but I haven’t seen any that really speak to me, and I’m torn between staying with Pontiac or going with something else. It is important to remember that Pontiac is dead and these cars aren’t made anymore. Will that matter 20 years down the road? I don’t know, because the G6 isn’t really a performance car, but maybe. Good luck to you
