Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car is now paperweight. New battery will not hold charge for more than a few
hours, definitely not overnight. Mechanic checked alternator. Unable to find
cause of power drain. Gave up. Could it be computer? How costly to fix?

Someone will have to take the time to do a parasitic battery drain test. Look it up on the web if you want to know how to do the test.

In the meantime disconnect the battery overnight so you can start it in the morning.
