I just pulled over. My Saturn has code p0300 and p0420. The car looses powrt and shakes. Will it cut off. Is this an ER?

Midas said its randomly misfiring across
entire engine. 2002 L200. Afraid to drive but
have no choice. I'm not a mechanic and
have very little $$. Midas says repair may
be more than car worth but I can't buy new
car.

P0300 really is a generic code for misfire, non-specific. Just tells you what you already know, your car is running like crap. P0420 is EGR, Exhaust Gas Recirculation .... an emissions device that cuts down NoX. That should no way no how cost more than the value of a 2002 Saturn, and I don't even know the value. Gimme a minute to see what an EGR repair would cost
