I have a 00 saturn sl2 with an electric powerseat for a drivers seat. It is stuck in the recline postion. The switch looks like it shorted out. How can I get it out i cant reach the bolts.

It's laid completely back I got a new switch it still doesnt work. I can not access the 4 bolts that hold it to the car, Is there any other way I can remove the seat to try and fix it or access the motor

If you can get to the wires after the burned switch or pull it out and use a long jumper wire from the battery or bypass the switch with a shorter jumper wire and power up the motor that moves the seat back to the sitting position so you can reach those bolts. Depending on the seat options you have a separate motor for reclining.
