Noise on back door of Toyota Rav4

Our RAV4 has a rear mounted spare tyre on the
back door. Recently we moved onto a farm which
meant more dirt road driving and the back door has
developed a rattle. Would taking the spare off the
door give less wear and tear on the back door?

The tire weight bouncing around will obviously stress the tire mounting point(s).
