My cd player will either not eject the disc or sound like it is trying to. Finally it will spit the disc out. What would cause this and approx how much would it cost to fix?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently noticed that my single disc CD player is having difficulty in ejecting the disc.  It either will not eject the disc or sound like the motor is running but no disc comes out.  Finally the disc will come out.  I need feedback as to what would cause this and approx how much it would cost to fix it

Factory stereo's are extremely overpriced. It has to be sent off to the manufacturer of the unit which costs you shipping and handling plus repair. Would advise going to get a aftermarket CD player they are inexpensive and for around 150 you can have tunes again versus repair of probably( this is a guess) 300.

Thanks Chris, I will see what will fit into the dash and looks like the original with all of the same features (works with the volume buttons on the steering wheels, etc). FYI -- the error message states "disc eject error". Don't know if this provides any additional info but I think that the Hyundai radio has given up the ghost.
