Mesh imbedded in the windshield.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What is the mesh imbedded across the top of the windshield for?  What if it is covered by a dark window tint.?  Does that affect anything?  Thanks for your help.

Shading. That's all. Not antenna, not heat element, just there to help reduce glare
