my 2007 dodge nitro wont shift into 4wd?

when you turn the knob to 4wd nothing happens, ive gone slow, been stopped and it still wont switch.

stopped in N? foot on brake?ok then try fuses beyond that study the workings of the way it works,,vacuum, electric ect.
