Ignition Key sometimes will not turn after inserting into lock

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Help Need to remove ignition lock for auto locksmith to repair. Anyone describe how - or direct me to a video that will show? If not, can you advise on a good workshop manual that will describe such work. Read that Chiltons is bad and Haynes only a bit better?

Thanks Mike for the prompt and detailed reply. I may still need a workshop manual as the car is eight years old and stuff is happening. Any suggestions for a good manual? Regards

Buy access to ALLDATA - it is offered to the public for ONE car I do not know if it is a one time fee or a small monthly fee ( I am not affiliated with this company in any way )

I have a 2001 Volvo c70n convertible. I took it to Jiffy lube to get transmission drained they flushed it 3 times. I left with no 3rd gear and cannot sue them. I need to get car moved. When I bought my house I had a friend move it he lost the key. is there a way I can move it without a key? it has to pass emissions but I cannot drive it so I am going to get a huge fine if I can't move it. PLease help me. Jerry
