99 Malibu harmonic balancer went bad, replaced and now when started, will only run for a few seconds and die.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Serpentine belt shredded, due to harmonic balancer going bad.  Replaced balancer and
belt, but now car won't stay running.  It starts for few seconds but then dies.  It never
stays running.  I went back in and changed the crankshaft position sensor, the one
directly behind the balancer, but to no avail.  Car still only will run for a few seconds before
dying.  What could cause this when car ran well before this all happened.

Check harness to crank position sensor. It to may have been damaged.

Crank sensor is fine, as it was changed after the harmonic balancer. Harness checks out ok as well. Even changed the ignition control module. Now was concerned about the ignition switch, but not sure. Puzzling since car ran fine before the belt/balancer were changed.
