Heat/coolant

Asked by Jguzm16 Jan 13, 2016 at 09:09 AM about the 1995 Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr GL Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 1995 mk3 golf that I'm restoring the heater
works but it's not at full capacity I was trying to
flush the cooling system and flush the heater core
at the same time and change the t-stat and maybe
fix the problem... Has anybody had the same
problem or did the flushing and worked???? Please
let me know.
Thanks in advance

What you are planning is smart and should be done every couple of years anyway. If the car is running cool and the temperature gauge reads low then the t-stat change should do the job. I would install a 190 degree thermostat.
