Has anyone heard of the Celica Magnum GT? It was sold in the North East by a local dealer in 1977 vfuschetti@yahoo.com

Question type: General
A Toyota dealer in Massachusetts sold a sport version of the 77 Celica liftback called the Magnum GT. It had Factory bolt on fender & quarter panel flares, rear louver and a special paint scheme, I have not been able to find any info on the car. The dealer is long since out of business.

This sounds like a dealer-added package and not something that was done as a factory special edition.
Yes I bought the one sold here in Weymouth Massachusetts new in 1977. There were 2 in New England that I was aware of. Mine was red and black and the other one (Rhode Island tags) was white and blue. According to the dealer that I bought mine from 300 cars got the Magnum GT package nationwide. The customization package was done here in the United States somewhere near the import location which was then New Jersey. It looked like a miniature Mustang Shelby GT. I have extensive pictures of her and would be happy to scan and post them or email them to you if you are still interested. jimdresser@gmail.com. 781.771.5483
