Did you check for any blown fuses in the fuse boxes? Was the battery low when the vehicle was started with the new alternator? If so a surge probably took place because new alternator was trying to overcompensate for the low battery charge. Never start a car with a new alternator and a low battery. Charge the battery while you are changing out the alternator. You must disconnect the battery anyway before beginning any electrical work.
