Mercedes Clk running poorly

Asked by Charley Jun 05, 2018 at 06:02 AM about the 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Cabriolet

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Clk 230 has started to run poorly the enginet ticks over fine when im
stopped, but when i go to pull away it feels like the cars about to conk out or
run out of petrol, so i have to put my foot down and it then seems to go and
catch and drive as normal, which is quite dangerous when in town roads as
i'm having to brake sharply because of the cars in front. Also when i got out
there seemed to be a burning smell coming from under the passenger side
door hope you can help

Find out exactly where the smell is coming from, it's important. if you're lucky, you may have a stuck caliper, which would account for the weird performance and smell. If one brake disc or caliper is significantly hotter than the others after a brief run, start there. Also, a possible parking brake issue could be the culprit. other than that, I'm at a loss to think of a common problem that would have both symptoms Get it checked now......
