when should overdrive kick in for 2006 dodge ram 4wd

All depends on the torque your putting on the transmission. On light torque on mine it will kick in at 40-45 mph. With torque on the transmission I can wind it out to like 75-80 mph before it goes into overdrive. So normal driving probably kicks in at like 45 to 55 mph.
