why wont my truck start

i jumped in my truck and drove down the street to the store and when i got back into the truck it wouldn't turn over and none of the electronics would work, my lock buttons  wont work and my key wont even work to lock and unlock the doors. there is a red light that stays on and goes away when i press the brake, manual says its a security light....any ideas as to whats going on???
