All I can get a red light on the dash on the right hand corner bottom corner and I think it might have something to do with the security to but I've already taken and unplug the battery put it back on and it does the same thing

I had this problem. To get around it when it happens disconnect the battery cables (with key out of the igntion of course). Then ground the two cables together for about 10 seconds. Again...this is wiht the wires disconnected and away from the battery. Reconnect the cables to the battery. Now, put the key in the ignition, turn to on BUT DO NOT START IT. Let the key sit in the on positoin for 5 seconds. Your dash/instrument cluster should be working. After 5 seconds start the vehicle. It should start. I had 3 separate days this happen in the last few months. And it happened about 3 or 4 times those days, but not back to back. i looked at the forum...the above is a temporary fix action to where you can start your truck. Some say replace the ignition control moduel, impact sensor (which mine didn't have), battery, disconnect the security module -- which is not a good idea -- and replace the starter. So earlier this week I started having the issue again. And I noticed that once I got reset by going through the reset procedures, my starter sound like it was lagging. I had the battery and charging system checked out. The battery I bought last September...so it should be good. It was..as was the alternator. Well, the day my starter quit, when I try to crank the engine to start...it turned over once or twice then started clicking like the battery was dead. Decided to replace the starter...in the parking lot of the business I had just left. New starter and it started right up quick and I have not had any repeat issues with the security systme locking out. By the way, I have 395,000 miles on my 2005 Ram 1500 5.7L....it still runs strong and is quick...uses oil, but at the mileage it's exected.

I’ve tried all that and nothing stops the red light any suggestions?

If the red light is blinking steady, and it starts and stops after 3 seconds. Or it won't start soon after, its the coded key... just went thru this.... i took it to get check first and everything else was good on the read out... autozone is free.... went to a mechanic who does it all the time afterwards... He says the coded key must be within a very short range of the column to activate, within half inch or against the column itself... Truck worked perfectly afterward and got a recorded key soon afterwards... Also read how to reconnect coded key with system,,, its was also helpful... on dodge forums.... This is the quickest and cheap fix... then go to changing parts....
