Question type: General

When I started my truck, the O/D OFF light came on... I've never seen that one before.  What does it mean & what do I need to do?

You might have accidentally clicked the overdrive button on your gearshift just after starting the truck?. The OD off indicates that your car will not shift into overdrive (which is your top gear). It is useful to turn your overdrive off if you need to use engine braking or driving up a hilly area. Look for the Overdrive (O/D) button to turn it back on....recommend doing so for highway driving as it provides better fuel economy.

Over DRive Off~ maybe you want to drive with overdrive off...most likely will not engage until 35mph.~ useful for the added gas mileage~

I'm not saying this is the reason your OD light came on but it is an indicator of your transmission starting to overheat before the actual transmission overheat light comes on
