oil pressure

I have a 2001 s10 with a 2.2 vortec engine. The oil pressure has drop to around 50 at 55 mph and about 38 when idling. what could cause this.

That pressure is not bad at all. Dropping oil pressure can be caused by a worn oil pump or worn engine bearings.
