Chevy s10 2.2l

My Chevy s10 over heated an shut down. I
replaced the head gasket torqed to specs.  
Truck is getting fuel getting spark but will
not start. Battery is also dead from turning
iver so many times. With a jump it will turn
iver an acts like it wants to start but won't.
Any suggestions of what problem could be?  
This being my only vehicle a needs to get
running

Ya play with the distributor and turn it just a hair to the left or right
