was driving and i thought the transmission popped into neutral because it acted like a car in neutral because it just spun in all gears including reverse. it's a 2006 ford taurus with an automatic transmission. what would cause it to act like neutral all of a sudden. I just had to have a new coil pack , plugs and wires installed 2 weeks ago but its been running super till this. can a short or a computer issue cause the tranny to not engage in any gears?

With cars running by computers anything is possible, but, I'm sorry to tell you this, Ford Taurus has a notorious reputation for bad transmissions. Since your car is a 2006, I imagine you have 80,000 miles or more and a friend of mine lost his transmission around 85,000. They're just not built well. Other than that, it could be a bad speed sensor or a faulty computer. You really need to get a mechanic to check it out. My advice, if it is the transmission, fix it and drive it for a few years to get some value, then sell it. Good luck.
