real life tow capacity

Asked by Sulesko Jul 08, 2018 at 10:28 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS 4WD

Question type: General

I just want to know what a stock 4wd
2002 Chevy suburban can tow in real
life (all stock 5.3l/3.73d). Everything I
read says like 8400# but it doesn't
seem anything close. Tried to my old
horse trailer, ('86 all steel two horse
straight load, mid tack and dressing
room, full of furniture/clothes) and i
couldnt! In general it just seems to
struggle. I am currently looking for an
older travel trailer and would like a 22'
but think I may have to trade it for a
3/4 ton truck. Which is ok but hard to
find in good shape where I'm at.
Help?!
