I just replaced my oil pressure sender on a 1995 F-250 5.0 Lt.. Now the gauge reads half way when the key is turned on, and below zero when the engine is running.

The one I removed is longer and looks like it has a metal shield over the unit.  the replacement was much shorter .

wrong part,take it back to where you bought it,new parts are sometimes packaged wrong,sounds like this is what happened.look at part before leaving store.makeing sure you got what you removed.
