what is the SW beside selector lever on the S420 model

Most likely the switch is either for the traction control or for overdrive, used when on the highway. Heat system should be fairly self explanatory from the dials in the middle.
The s/w switch is to change from standard mode(s) to winter mode(w) on the automatic transmission,which starts the car off in second gear and changes the ratio in reverse gear to reduce wheelspin on ice and snow. Hope this answers your question.
