Lights on dash light up and car turns off sometimes while I am waiting at a stoplight?

Asked by gemini_2737 Mar 09, 2017 at 11:50 PM about the 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320 Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While stopping at a stoplight my dash lights come on and
the motor turns off. I have to start it again.
What is the cause of this? It happens once in a while.
I have regular maintenance my vehicle.
Thank you!

Sounds electrical, an aggressive gremlin. If the engine isn't stalling, just stops dead as if you were turning off the key, it would need some diagnosis from a good independent garage with a specialty in electrical issues. Your local MB deal may just want to throw parts at it. This will take a while to isolate
