94 toyota tercel engine swap

The engine I have in in now(3e) runs but is going to
blow a rod. I wanna swap it but i  don't want to
but the same engine in it.I'm looking for a little
more horsepower. Any suggestions on what to swap
it with

save the crank and rod now...in other words do run it anymore and rebuild what you have !!!

Okay so my 98 tercel threw a rod a couple months ago.... Well that was my guess, I was honestly too pissed off to ever check, but my stepdad was excessively driving it everyday to work without checking and adding oil. Long story short, I was wondering what engine would be best to swap it with for more torque. I'm only the 2nd owner of this car and my bf and I need a second vehicle. I figured it would be quicker to swap an engine in my Toyota rather than the other project that's gonna take years to do.
