My keys won't work!

Asked by migration_Shj722 Apr 06, 2015 at 08:46 AM about the 2005 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Both will start the car but I've had to keep it unlocked because neither key will open the
doors or trunk. Help.

Do the keys have a black rubber head? Not gray? Does the remote fob lock/unlock doors? And are they copies? I know. lots of questions but need to know before going further to figure this out

One key has black rubber and the other more brown rubber. Seem to be originals not copies. Remote long gone. Thanks for the help

it may have had the ignition replaced , and if it did, it won't match the original door and trunk cylinders- have a local locksmith do keys for you for the door and trunk. I hope this helps.

Richard makes good points. But since the ignition has never been replaced, is this a sudden thing..they worked at some point then just one day didn't? And has it ever been in to replace the ECU on the re-call?
