Regarding the engine light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light keeps coming on and going off. a friend put a machine on the car Chevrolet dealer and was  told that it was a C O 2 sensor(P135 sensor).  I am in need of clarity since I was also told by the dealer maintenance personnel that the cost of this repair is $92. thru $174.00 . What is a P135 sensor and what does it usually cost to replace and how long does it take?  Is this a warranty item?, and is their maintenance time line I should check on to make sure that I am maintaining my car properly.

p0135 is for bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor. Price I dont know call a parts store such as advanced or autozone, or go online and find it. Book pays 1/2 hour to replace it so it is fairly easy with the right tools. As far as maintence goes refer to the owners manual for what needs to be done and when. No its not a warranty item. Unless you have a aftermarket warranty on it then it may be covered.
