What's wrong with my gas pedal!?

Asked by David Feb 14, 2020 at 04:04 PM about the 2005 Toyota Camry LE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the pedal sensor 3 times. Each time I
replace it, the same day, it will not work at least once that
day and then later it will work for a week or more then
randomly die on me again. My question is, if the voltage is
acting up at the pedal sensor, what kind of problem would
that indicate? And how would you fix that problem? I am at
a loss because everytime you hook up a scan tool it says
the same thing, that the pedal sensor needs to be replaced.
I really like this car and would like to fix it! Any help would
be greatly appreciated!

If you replaced the sensor three times and still have the same issue, I would say it isn't the sensor. I would think it could be the wiring or other issue. What is the 4 digit trouble code? You might want to have the vehicle looked at by a mechanic?
