EFI 15a Fuse Blows When Trying To Start My 2000 Camry CE

Asked by JD082496 Mar 14, 2017 at 07:19 PM about the 2000 Toyota Camry CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Camry CE continues to blow the 15a EFI fuse.  EFI relay is good,
COR relay is good and I have installed a new fuel pump and filter as the car sat
idle for a while.  It does not blow the fuse when turned to on, only when I try to
crank the car.  I have checked the wires to the O2 sensors and they are also
fine.  Any other ideas?

Considering this thread is about 2 years old......lets catch up. 2000 Camry has been sitting awhile.....what engine? Key on engine off the EFI fuse does not fail? The EFI fuse fails on the CRANK and the engine dose not Run. Correct? Suggestion. Disconnect the fuel pump connector at the fuel pump. This connector should be accessible by removing the rear seat and the fuel pump cover. Crank the engine over and check the condition of the EFI Fuse with the FP connector DC. Get back with results. BTW....when a vehicle sits for awhile...wild life (mice) like to feast on the wiring of vehicles which have Soy in the insulation around said wires.
