Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 GP started a knocking sound after hitting a few potholes, or is that
relevant?  83,000 km to date. Basic maintenance done 2x a year.

Might be a ball joint. Can you tell if knocking is coming from front end or engine? Google how to check ball joints, just need a jack and a little muscle.

It’s coming from front right side and gets louder. Also noticed it happens when damp or raining.

If not the ball joint, check lower control arm bushings and the ends of the torsion bar etc. The jarring from hitting the potholes might have caused worn out parts to start moving around or the end of a cracked torsion bar (like the one on my car which hasn't broken yet) to fail. That's very low mileage for any of those things to be failing though so if you can't find something a visit to a good alignment shop might be in order.
