Power Windows

Asked by Domenic Nov 17, 2019 at 06:24 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I own a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, and recently I tried to
roll down my windows, my two driver windows came down
and so did my rear driverside window, the rear passenger
side window however won't come down at all, I used the
driver's master control and also the window button on the
passenger rear door and still it wouldn't roll down. What
should I do, and what should I possibly need to replace.

Sounds like a bad power window motor. Try this, turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Watch the dome light as you press the window button. If the dome light dims slightly when you press the button you know the window motor is getting power. On these vehicles you'll want to replace the window regulator assembly. The new regulator will come with a new motor already attached. If you're not getting power to the motor, inspect the wires going from the main body of the vehicle to the door. Simply pull back the rubber tube in the doorjamb to inspect the wires. One may be broken. Hope that helps! Jim
