brake pedal gets hard

when i push on the brake the pedal gets hard right away an i need to push
harder for the car to stop also i hear a bunch of air or sounds like a vacum is
running all the time ?

the brake booster hose has fallen off? think you might check to make sure that it is there and NOT cracked~
