My battery is checked, my alternator is checked. But car keeps dying!

Asked by Toni0224 Nov 30, 2016 at 04:28 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last night my car had died. As soon as we got
home we took the battery in to Auto Zone and they
said it's fine. We took the alternator in and it's fine.
But the car just died again. The radio turned off,
then our gas went straight to empty when it was
full. The battery light was on, as well as ASB? Help
I'm stranded!!!

Does it crank at all or completely dead. If it cranks then it's not the battery or alternator. Let us know what happens when it dies. When you took the battery to get it checked, was it dead and they re-charged it?

I am having the same problem with my 2004 grand am I need help on what the problem is also. If I drive it evert day it seems to be ok, but if I let it sit for a few days than the battery will go completely dead.
