What's going on with my heater and A/C?

Asked by phills86 Oct 19, 2014 at 12:22 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 G.A. GT, and my heater and A/C controls don't seem to be working correctly.  When I have it on the heat it will randomly start blowing cold, and when it's on a/c it will start blowing warm unless i hold the knob down on hot or cold.  I have replaced the actuator behind the glove box that controls the blower.  Anybody have any ideas what going on??

These is usually a "door" that opens and closes by a cable.Could be the cable that moves the "door" has a problem. Or the "door" is not staying in place.
