Your truck does not have cable it has speed sensor, easy fix just one 10mm bolt and pull it out the side of tranny and replace hook up wire harness and go.

How can I get the vehicle speed sensor out of the transmission if it won't come out

Take 10 mm bolt out, use vise grips or wire pliers & twist backwards & forwards while pulling outwards. Do not clamp to tight if the sensor is good you could tear it up.
